Sudbury, Ontario – January 6, 2010 – Houston Lake Mining Inc. (TSX.V: HLM, the "Company"), an advanced exploration company seeking gold, platinum group and rare metal deposits in Ontario, announced that President and CEO, E. Grayme Anthony has resigned to pursue other opportunities, effective immediately. Mr. Anthony will remain a director of the Company and will continue to advise Houston Lake on a consulting basis.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Grayme for his valuable contributions to Houston Lake Mining over the past twelve years, and look forward to continuing to benefit from his expertise in his ongoing role as Director," said Reginald F. (Rick) Walker, Houston Lake’s Chairman of the Board.
The Company has commenced a search for a suitable replacement for Mr. Anthony. In the interim, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Trevor R. Walker as Interim President effective immediately. Mr. Walker has been involved with Houston Lake for a number of years in an informal capacity and recently joined Houston Lake on a full time basis. Mr. Walker will facilitate the transition to a new President and CEO.
Prior to joining Houston Lake, Mr. Trevor R. Walker was Vice President of the Consbec Group of Companies where he accumulated years experience in mining and construction. Mr. Walker holds an honours BA from the University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from Webster University Geneva, Switzerland.
